Omenye Campsites is located in the beautiful, wild Kaokoland near Puros. It was started by Himba Herero woman, Mrs Alwine Kasaona in 2010. It is the perfect place to spend your nights whenever you are the heart of the Kaokoland or Himba region. From time to time one encounters some of the free roaming wildlife that wander the area, including giraffes, springboks, ostriches, steenbok, oryx and kudus.
We sell firewood and fuel (Diesel and Petrol) to the public and a small range of drinks to our clients.
Our camp has a beautiful view overlooking the Hoarusib ephemeral river. The campsites are nested under the cool shade of giant camelthorn trees (Acacia erioloba ).
